Notes:
The Democrat & Chronicle calls the show a fake, in fact it says it was, "about the worst that ever struck town."
Few of the events actually took place.
The horseback wrestling "was a farce." The men were on "scrub horses," rather than stallions.
Speaking of the tilting and tent-pegging, "not as good as would be done at any time by a boy on a sawhorse with a clothes stick."
The sword contest ended when Ross nearly cut three of Walsh's fingers off.
It's said there was a drunken bugler throughout the show who played anything from "Home Sweet Home" to "Taps."
The evening performance by the athletes was cancelled by the BBA. They also cancelled all performances outside of the baseball game for the next day.
It's said the BBA were in no way to blame for the behavior of the athletes and stopped it once the farcical nature became apparent.

The wrestlers shall take position fifty yards apart, and at the command, 'Wrestle,' each wrestler shall canter his horse to the center, shake hands, pass ten yards away, retace each other and commence wrestling. The wrestlers must keep their horses at a pace faster than a walk until holds are taken, when they shall come to a halt. Should no fall be secured in five minutes, they shall break away and commence anew. Each wrestler must show equal play or forfeit a fall. What constitutes afall is the unhorsing of a wrestler. Contests shall be for the best three in five or four in seven, according to mutual agreement." - The Enquirer
This is said to be the first time horseback wrestling had been performed in the city.
Pierre, "can do better work on a saw or clothes-horse, however, than he can on a real live horse."
It's said Pierre had claimed to have never seen a horse let alone ride one until he arrived in America.
"The match did not last one half of an hour, but there was a whole afternoon of sport rolled into those thirty minutes."
First Fall - Pierre's horse became frightened and caused Pierre to fall off.
Fourth Fall - Walsh claimed his horse was winded and could not go on at the beginning of this fall. The match wen on nonetheless.
Sixth Fall - Pierre grabbed Walsh, but Pierre was pulled from his horse before he could release his grip on Welsh.

Notes:
The debut of the four wrestlers of the Sultan
It is said the Sultan's sensational four wrestlers will debut tonight. At this point they're not mentioned by name in the press.
It is said Fenelon has had a 90 minute draw with Tom Cannon at Folies-Bergere before and in Bordeaux Fenelon has defeated Fernand Sabes (who himself holds victories over Tom Cannon and Pietro).
[Youssouf, Nourlah and Mehmed, as they would go on to be known in France. The fourth "Sultan wrestler" referred to here is the Bulgarian Nicolai Petroff who would initially be grouped with the Turks since all four arrived in Paris together. The French veteran Joseph/Jean Doublier is the one who brought all four to Paris. He first discovered Petroff in Romania sometime during the spring of 1894, turned him pro and then the story goes Petroff suggested they go to Turkey and that's how they discovered the three Turks. With Petroff serving as interpreter, Doublier convinced the Turks - who were experienced only in Turkish oil wrestling - to come to France and try their hand at Greco-Roman pro wrestling. According to Turkish sources, the wrestlers arrived in Paris in December 1894, but as far as I can tell March 20 is when they actually started wrestling in Paris. In the days and weeks after that Youssouf would start being referred to as "the terrible" - making him the first known "Terrible Turk" in pro wrestling - and "the leader of the Turks" while Nourlah was usually billed as "the giant Nourlah". Mehmed is an interesting one. According to later stories, published over the years, the third guy of the original Turk trio was Kara Osman. Was Mehmed an alias for Kara Osman or a completely different guy? I do not know.]

Pierri and Mehmed had to be separated by the jury after their match.
