"A HAND BOOK OF WRESTLING. By Hugh F. Leonard. 12mo.; cloth; pp. 257. New York: E.R. Pelton, Publisher.
The author of this treatise on wrestling is instructor at the New York Athletic Club, and a recognized authority. After a chapter in which the history of wrestling as an art is sketched, there are a few paragraphs covering the fundamental principles. The rest of the book contains a number of half-tone engravings, two on a page, illustrating every important move in wrestling. Opposite each picture is printed a full explanation and direction. The pictures are arranged so as to follow each other in regular order. The work is edited by F.A. Fernald, and may be confidently recommended to anyone interested in athletics as a valuable treatise on wrestling, giving in small space almost everything that one would care to know about the art." - New Orleans Times-Picayune
