2.5/5 Stars
Steve Borden, better known as Sting, referred to as the 'Icon', who many consider to be the best wrestler that has never worked for the WWE. and Vince McMahon. He has held the National Wrestling Alliance world heavyweight title on one occasion, the World Championship Wrestling world heavyweight belt a total of six times, the WCW world international strap twice, the Total Non-stop Action NWA world heavyweight title once, and the TNA world heavyweight championship on four separate occasions in a career spanning twenty-seven years.
A story many would like to read is that of Sting's, the colourful good guy from the late 80's to early 90's transforming into the Crow like mysterious enigma of the mid to late 90's all the way up to the present day 'Insane Icon'. Moment of Truth opens with a brief introduction over looking what the reader has awaiting for him in the forth coming chapters, it sets the tone for the rest of the book perfectly. You can tell the writing of the original movie was emotional for Sting by the way the book has been written, portraying it through-out the story. Borden glances over his career as a professional wrestler for most of the book, never going into much detail, the demons and personal life are also only really touched upon slightly. The main focus for this book is Sting's road to salvation in finding the Almighty God, with the support of a loving family, turning what seemed an inevitable tragedy into an almost fairy tale like ending.
Although the book does trigger emotions with Stings struggle to find God, it is overall disappointing. The story is told well leading you to believe the movie could be an interesting watch, however it does not jump out at you that you must go and purchase a copy immediately or any time soon for that matter. If you're a collector of Sting merchandise it's definitely worth buying, if you're after a real autobiography containing his life in the wrestling world, rather than his religious conquest this is not the book for you.
