James J. Rooney 'the Giant Gripman' (of Chicago) def. Terrible Turk No. 2,
Two Falls to None - Forfeit (00:14:30)
Notes:
In the March 15 edition of the Globe it was predicted thousands would witness the match.
When the Turk refused to get back on the mat for the second fall stating his arm was too injured to continue, Rooney had the following to say: "Bring on both Turks, and I'll throw them both in twenty minutes, the big stiffs. They're all quitters."
I would guess the times are off in the preliminary bout. Seems unlikely the time-limit would be 37 minutes and 30 seconds.
