"Marlin Closes Mat Season Here Agaisnt Bad Boy Joy
Don Marlin, popular Niles wrestler, closes the season in Benton Harbor Saturday night against Bad Boy Joe, a man of many addresses who commands less respect among fans.
The Bad Boy had a hard time remembering his home town. He has listed it as South Bend, Fort Wayne, Michigan City and Chicago. Presently he’s billed as wrestling out of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Some say he is too violent to keep the same address for very long.
Joe also thrives on rumors that have him related to some of the big names in wrestling. He is said to be a brother of Hans Schmidt, a cousin of Johnny Gilbert and son of the old-time grappler Bad Boy Brown. Whether this heritage is correct or not, Joe has many of their mean characteristics.
Only 30, Bad Boy Joe has been a pro grappler for 14 years. He made his first appearance in the twin cities against Joe Savoldi at Silver Beach a decade ago.
The rest of the Armory card presented by Rex Sheeley sends Tim Hampton against Ray Greenlee, Lou Eisenhart vs. Joe Smith, and Johnny Gilbert vs. Herman Funk. The show starts at 8:30" - The Herald-Palladium
