Jim Londos (World Heavyweight Champion) officially declined the challenge from a boxer called Mickey Walker.
Walker had wanted a mixed bout.
Londos's manager, Ed White, derided the challenge as "the old ballyhoo racket-the bunk."
White also accused Tom Packs, promoter of St. Louis, and Walker's manager, Jack "Doc" Kearns of attempting to "restore...the waning popularity of boxing at the expense of wrestling."
The match would have been two knockouts to win for Walker and two pin falls to win for Londos.
John V. Clinnin, president of the National Boxing Association, ruled that he would not approve any "freak matches."

Baltimore boxing promoter Harry Van Hoven is planning to try his luck with wrestling and has been negotiating with Jack Curley to supply the grapplers.
Van Hoven signed former Yale football star Century Milstead to a wrestling contract
Jack Sherry challenged to throw Jim Londos five times in one hour.
Ed Contos posted $500 with the MD State Athletic Commission to bind a contest for Fred Grubmier taking on Henri DeGlane, Ed Don George and Gus Sonnenberg and guaranteeing to throw them all, one after the other, within two hours.

Meyer & Burns got into a brawl.
Bob Sindall, chairman of the State Ahtletic Commission, jumped into the ring to order a stop to the fracas.
Martin then jumped into the rting and started to argue with Sindall.
Sindall ordered police to remove Martin from the venue.
Meyer was suspended by Sindall indefinitely.
The promoter's license was also threatened.
A threat which wound up not being empty when a few days later the A.A.C. had their license suspended.
Meyer & Martin were both permanently barred from wrestling in the state of Maryland.

A few days later over 100 "Italian citizens and residents of Baltimore" signed a letter to the commission secretary protesting Assirati's loss.
In the letter they blamed the referee for poor officiating.
Assirati reportedly paid the fine and wrote a letter of apology.

Notes:
Garibaldi tried to continue wrestling after the match had ended.
Garibaldi was subsequently suspended by the State Athletic Commission and fined $450.
During the Assirati-Christy match the men got tangled up in the ropes.
Brockman tried to separate them upon seeing Assirati apparently using a stangle hold.
Assirati responded by throwing punches at Brockman.
Brockman and Assirati then began to trade punches.
Members of Contos's staff quickly broke up the situation.
Assirati had previously been suspended, but it was lifed to allow another match with Christy.
Due to this latest infraction of the rules the State Athletic Commission ruled he was "permanently suspended."

When the bout was awarded to Dusek, irate fans nearly rioted.
The fans pelted the ring with debris.
"A woman in a green dress" disappeared into the crowd as security officials searched for her, she was a prime offender during the situation.
Plummer's supporters claimed Dusek had been pinned several times by Plummer during the bout.
Burns explained they were "rolling falls" and it took a clean three-second pin fall to win.
