Notes:
Originally Joe Acton was set to face Lewis on this day for the "World Catch-as-Catch-Can Championship." The match was signed and monetary forfeits had been posted, however, in the stipulations for the for the contest it was stated that neither man should compete before their contest. After the contracts were signed, Lewis fought Jack Carkeek and thus violated the contract. It was said to have been agreed that if Lewis paid the forfeit the match could continue, it appears the forfeit was never paid and instead Lewis faced Carkeek in a rematch. Acton and Lewis would eventually square off in April of this year.
Carkeek who had been defeated on March 3 by Lewis (The match that cost him a shot at the title) was said to have been injured so severely in that match he may never wrestle again. Clearly this was not the case as 11 days later he was taking on the very same man who had injured him.
