"Legion Post Opposes Tax
The Harvey W. Seeds Legion post, which has been inactive in fight promotions here since last fall, intends fighting the proposed five per cent tax on wrestling and boxing promoters, a spokesman announced Saturday.
He said that the department judge advocate, J.K. Williams, has been instructed to draw up a resolution opposing the proposed tax and also to appear before the city commission when a hearing is held on increasing the tax.
The Seeds post is against the proposed tax on the grounds that it might jeopardize the five cent sponsoring fee." - The Herald

"MAT SHOWS LIMITED TO 2 EACH WEEK
Wrestling shows in Miami will be limited to two per week, it was decided Wednesday at a meeting of the city boxing commission. Billy Regan, director of boxing, was instructed to meet Saturday with Al Ritchie and Pat Malone, rival mat promoters, to work out the details.
Malone has been promoting on Tuesday nights and serving as matchmaker for the Harvey W. Seeds Post on Friday nights, with Ritchie staging a show on Thursday evenings under the sponsorship of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
The Legion is willing to give up its night and serve as sponsor for Malone’s card.
'We’d hope to have all of the fights and wrestling shows staged at Biscayne arena,” Regan explained. “But George Griffith, the owner, says he doesn’t want the Legion or Malone promoting there.'” - The Herald
