With one fall apiece, referee Yaqui Joe finally stopped the bout and awarded it to Condell.
The Demon attacked Yaqui Joe and spectators began storming into the ring, followed closely by five police men.
A general free-for-all broke out until the police finally subdued the Demon and escorted him to the dressing room.
The police ordered the lights turned out to break up the crowd that was still milling around the arena.
During the melee the hooded one’s mask was torn off, but no one recognized him and he did not reveal his identity.
The police chief ordered Dana to bring the masked wrestler before the city athletic commission in the morning.
He further barred him from ever wrestling in Tucson again.
However, Pappas had issued a challenge to the Demon for a no-holds-barred, no referee contest and the fans were very interested in seeing him in action again.
Local officials, with their eye on the potential revenue, over-ruled the police chief and agreed to let the Masked Demon continue his run in Tucson.
Mullen had been welcomed back into Dana’s fold.
Condell was a deaf mute wrestler also known as Silent Olson and Silvert Condell.

Notes:
Billed only as The Black Panther, this 190-lb. African American wrestler was said to hail from Sandusky, Ohio.
[I’m thinking it was Alex Kaffner.
He had been touring with Pappas in Wyoming in October and may have accompanied him to Tucson.
There was only a handful of black pro wrestlers at the time and Jim Mitchell, Jack Claybourne and King Kong Clayton seem to be accounted for elsewhere.
Kaffner, Mitchell and Claybourne all used the “Black Panther” sobriquet]

Notes:
Alexander was a substitute for Gus Pappas who was a no-show.
Pappas was a subsitute for Al Baffert.
Alexander, 196 lbs. jumped in to meet the Panther when Pappas failed to appear.
In turn Pappas had been booked to take Baffert’s place who reported that he couldn’t make it to Tucson due to bad weather.
Alexander gave up the first fall to a “Japanese arm bar” and then conceded without even attempting another fall.
At the public workout held the day before the card, Aguayo and Taylor got into a fist-fight and had to be separated by Dana.
