"Looking for a Fight.
The Mobile News of yesterday says:
A letter was received here to-day from Joseph P. Barry of Pensacola, asking if it is possible to get up a boxing and wrestling exhibition. Barry states that 'Denver' Ed Smith, the prize fighter and his brother Pat, are coming to Mobile and if an exhibition can be arranged he (Barry) will come over also.
Ed Smith has the reputation of being one of the hangiest men in the country with his 'dukes,' but it is highly probable that if he coems to Mobile, he can get a match with Billy Ryan without much trouble.
Ryan said yesterday: 'Yes, I will go on with Smith for a limited number of rounds. Anything to have a little sport.'" - The Pensacola News
