Sometimes this is wrongfully listed as August 2, 1973. 1977 is the correct date. Wanz had no matches between July 4, 1973 and August 29, 1973. On the former he defeated Ivan Strogoff in a Graz tournament and was starting dates in Duisburg on the latter.
The title was just the "CWA" title. The name "Catch Wrestling Association" did not come into usage until the formation of the promotion in 1985.
