"The amusements of the rustics are not materially different from those which are kept up on the village green in Europe or America. Wrestling is done in this way:- 'Each man stripped of his coat and tied a sash tight round his waist; this was grasped fast in the right hand of his antagonist while the left was placed on his shoulder,' and severe struggles followed, but the feet were not used for tripping." - Brooklyn Daily Eagle via "Atkinson's Oriental and Western Siberia"
