"A Ticket-of-Leave - A man named Patrick Finnegan was brought before a police court in Dublin, on Monday last, charged with misconducting himself in being a professional wrestler. It appeared that at the spring seizes of 1851, he was sentenced in Trim to ten years transportation for high way robbery, but got a ticket-of-leave in June 1856. Since then he has had some pitched battles in wrestling, at which he was victorious and from which he carried off golden-spoils. His ticket was ravoked in consequence and he has been committed to Mountjoy prison to spend there four years and eight months, balance of the original sentence." - People and Cavan and Westmeath Chronicle
