Jasmin St. Claire
I think most people will know her as the pornstar who appeared in ECW for two cups of coffee and took a devastating middle rope piledriver from Rhino while there. She was and still is much more than that though.
Her Career in the Adult Industry
Jasmin St. Claire (born Rhea Alexandria Devlugt) got her start in the adult industry around the middle of the '90s and found herself a niche due to her fairly unique look due to the fact she is part Russian and part Brazilian. Jasmin appeared in around 100 adult releases and created even more of a niche for herself by specializing in certain types of movie; butt play & being with multiple men - Trying to be tactful as....if that's even possible.
In 1996 she broke a record within her chosen field of employment by allegedly sleeping with 300 men within 24 hours for a movie, the previous record was 291 and I believe Jasmin's record has long since been smashed. In her book "What the Hell Was I Thinking?!!! Confessions of the World's Most Controversial Sex Symbol", she claims that it was actually "only" a couple dozen men that she actually performed with and it was just shot in a way to make it look like it was many, many more. Either way, that movie catapulted her to the upper echelon of adult actresses and she had suggested doing the movie for that very reason.
She continued to make those kind of movies and had herself somewhat of a cult following which continues to this day. Other then her unique look and chosen movie genres a big part of her success was her interaction with her friends. At one point she even filmed one that was (as far as I know) with fans who had wrote in and applied to sleep with her. Overall though, in her book she is negative about being involved in the industry and has only a handful of good things to say of that chapter in her life which came to an end around the turn of the century. Nonetheless she was inducted into the Adult Video News Awards (AVN Awards) Hall of Fame in 2011.
Jasmin St. Claire in Professional Wrestling
By 1998 she was working for another name that most y'all will probably have heard at least in passing, Rob Black (Zicari). Black alongside his wife Lizzy Borden (Janet Zicara nee Romano) opened up Xtreme Pro Wrestling (XPW) in 1999. Black had been a producer and director in the adult industry for a few years by this point and had attended a few Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) shows. At least once during his visits to ECW Jasmin also went and through this she made a few friends backstage and had a foot in the door of pro-wrestling.
From there she credits Bubba Ray Dudley as being the guy who got Paul Heyman to give her a call. Jasmin was ecstatic to receive a call to go to ECW as she'd been a wrestling fan growing up through her grandma. She says her favorites growing up were Miss Elizabeth, Jimmy Snuka, the Rockers, and the one who influenced her the most, Sherri Martel. In one interview she stated that Woman (Nancy Benoit) had been an influence on her too. As a side note when there was first talk of a movie being made about the Chris Benoit murder-suicide Jasmin through her name out there as wanting to play Nancy.
Her original debut took place at the Living Dangerously pay-per-view aired on March 21, 1999. She walked out into the Asbury Park Convention Center cutting a promo about how she was the hottest pornstar there had ever been and she was coming to ECW to be the true "Queen of Wrestling." This led to Francine the "Queen of Extreme" coming out to confront St. Clair. Words were exchanged until St. Clair called Francine a "douche bag" and received either a very bad "Stone Cold" stunner or a very awkward cutter. A guy wearing a turtle neck sweater by the name of Lance Wright accompanied her to the ring when she had came out. He was Francine's next target. Wright must have thought he was in the time of his life when she started to seduce him and drop down to her knees in front of him. She acted as though she was going to be making him a happy man until she suddenly hit him with a low blow instead.
Tangent: Who was Lance Wright?
He went to school with Joey Styles. He also had a friend whose brother-in-law was an executive produce for the World Wrestling Federation (now WWE) and through this connection Wright received an internship during 1993. After spending some time researching towns for the Live Event News clips, he found himself as a production assistant for the show Superstars by the end of 1994. During the second half of 1995 he started to do the ECW Hype Central segments for their TV that continued into 1996, part of his schtick was to poke fun at the WWF. Then in December 1996 he started to do some announcing and interviewing back at the WWF. Finally he ended up back on ECW programming by the end of 1997 this time as a manager for Brakkus, Doug Furnas, Phil Lafon and Flash Funk (2 Cold Scorpio), and for the blink of an eye Droz was involved too. The idea was that the group known as the "Wright Connect" had been sent by the WWF to destroy ECW from the inside-out. He continued to be visible on ECW TV at various times until 1999 and then seemingly disappears. He was said to be a huge wrestling fan though and probably stuck around off-camera in some capacity. In recent years he has been listed as the producer for "Strip Club: The Series."
Back to Jasmin St. Claire
Later on in that ECW PPV Jasmin came down to the ring as a valet for Lance Storm & Justin Credible. Tammy Lynn Bytch, Beulah McGuillicutty and Jason were also in Storm and Credible's corner as they took on Shane Douglas and Tommy Dreamer with Francine in their corner. The latter team won. A big impact was wanted for Jasmin by both herself and Paul Heyman, but it was lacking something to really make either the initial confrontation with Francine nor the match later on memorable events.
On the March 28, 1999 Hardcore TV episode Jasmin came out and again cut a promo on Francine along the same lines as before. After she is done a clip of Jasmin and Francine getting into a "cat fight" at Living Dangerously is shown. She may make another appearance or two, but out of nowhere Jasmin just disappears from ECW. She says in an interview that the first ever time she did something in the ring was with Sherri Martel in a mixed match, but I can not find when this match took place or where.
There has been (to quote Bruce Prichard) "rumor and innuendo" galore about why it was cut so short. In at least one account she has told of the circumstances around her sudden departure, Jasmin has stated that Rob Black had wanted her to bring back inside information about how the company worked backstage in preparation for launching his own company over on the west coast. She didn't do it. Another version was that Rob Black was being awkward with her dates as he was starting his own company and didn't want her appearing for ECW. Another rumor was simply that Heyman was not impressed by her performances nor the reactions they garnered and didn't see fit to continue for how much he had to pay her. The one consistent part of what happened though is that she was still under contract for Rob Black's adult film company.
On various platforms Jasmin has expressed a great disliking for both Black and Borden and was not happy about having to fulfill the remainder of her contract. Not only that, but she ended up having to show up for a handful of XPW events. Including having to wrestle Nicole Bass on January 29, 2000 at a show called Abuse of Power. St. Clair of course lost. For the most time of her short stint in XPW she was the valet of Damien Steele. Not long after this her contract was up. One good thing did come out of her extended time working for Black though; she got to know Big Dick Dudley and the two struck up a friendship that lasted until his untimely passing a couple of years later. She refers to him as her "big brother like friend."
While this had been going on she had tracked down and paid Sue Sexton to train her how to wrestle. I believe it was through Sue that following her departure from Black's companies Jasmin ended up being able to travel to Memphis, Tennessee and wrestle for Terry Golden's Memphis Championship Wrestling (MCW). According to St. Clair she continued training with Sexton while with the promotion and got to work with Jerry Lawler a little. Her main rival was (Cyndi) Bobcat who has been known by several names, Cynthia Lynch being her real name, Principal Lazarus in Women's Extreme Wrestling (WEW), Bobbi Bardot in Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW), and probably most notably as the "Godfather's Ho" who pinned Crash Holly while he was already engaged in a match with the Godfather to win the WWF Hardcore Championship and to become forever known as the "Hardcore Ho."
As summer rolled around in 2000 St. Clair was still making appearances at the dance clubs when she got the call to return to ECW. This time she would be coming in with a wrestler who had also been there before, but he had left and was now coming back totally transformed into a new persona. The pair who had met at an independent show and were dating in real life turned up on July 14's ECW on TNN by exiting a bathroom stall and interrupting Gary Wolfe as he is telling the crowd (from the toilets) that he is back. Jasmin with the now vastly slimmer and more confident Blue Meanie start to make jokes at Wolfe's expense and then beat him down for objecting to their unwarranted verbal assault. They inform the audience that the Blue Meanie is no more, he is the Blue Boy.
Upon her return to ECW she was able to receive even more training for a hopeful in-ring run and spent time with Mando Guerrero trying to improve on what she had already been taught.
On the Hardcore TV episode just two days later and airing after the Heatwave PPV on the same day, Blue Boy and St. Clair come down with Lou E. Dangerously cutting promos about how great they are, Jazz hears enough and comes out to attack them. She manages to overcome both Blue Boy and Dangerously only to get struck by Jasmin from behind knocking her to the floor. Feeling very proud of herself Jasmin dances a little before getting taken out by Jazz and then taking a nice looking sit-out powerbomb which causes Jasmin's breasts to pop right out of her dress.
There maybe some appearances missing here, but, it seems they were used only at a show or two per month. Jasmin has said she was happy with this though and was already set for life money wise anyway. They next appear on the August 20 show,, but only briefly following a promo cut by Cyrus and Scotty Anton. It then cuts straight into a match. A little under three weeks later they appeared on the September TNN episode. Balls Mahoney beat the Blue Boy with a vicious chair shot and then hit St. Claire with the Nutcracker Suite (sitout bodyslam) and positioned her laying on top of the Blue Boy with her face in his crotch and her crotch in his.
They made it onto the September 22 show as Chris Chetti was unable to appear and the Blue Boy even picked up a victory over Nova. Don't get excited for him though, the next day he lost to Joel Gertner. Then on October 12 the Blue Boy saved the leg brace wearing Spike Dudley from an attack by Pat Tanaka. They again were on back-to-back shows as the Blue Boy lost to the ECW TV Champion Rhino, but got the last laugh when Sandman came out to cane Rhino and then the Blue Boy & St. Clair celebrated with him.
The November 2 Remember PPV on the fifth did not feature the Blue Boy in a match nor Jasmin, instead they were shown backstage in the shower where they hype up that the ECW website is going to have exclusive photos of Jasmin St. Clair on the website. They also featured other girls and the pictures became known as the "Pervert Pics." They made the mistake of insulting New Jack on one of Lou E.'s Danger Zone segments and on November 5 the Blue Boy felt the consequences of it and was soundly defeated.
Jasmin was used in one of her most entertaining backstage segments of her stint here at the Massacre on 34th Street show (Dec. 3). She is shown entering a bathroom with Jack Victory, leaving Steve Corino by himself. At this moment Justin Credible appears and attacks Corino with a cane. Once he was done he shouted St. Claire to come out with him. A second or two later Victory can be heard screaming. St. Clair then walks out of the bathroom and utters the words, "Sharp teeth are a bitch." Later in the show Blue Boy is shown driving around New York City trying to get to the show and picking up a girl in the process.
By December 23 the two were back side-by-side and ready to take on Chilly Willy. The match didn't get to a finish though as Rhino came down and gored both men. He then gave everyone a good look at St. Claire's undies as he picked her up, took her to the middle rope and piledrove her into the canvas. At the Guilty As Charged PPV January 7, 2001 it was almost de-ja-vu when Simon Diamon with Dawn Marie and Johnny Swinger with the Blue Boy and Jasmin St. Claire were wrestling Balls Mahoney. Once again Rhino came running down, he managed to duck a chair shot from Balls then follow that up with a gore to Balls, Dawn, Chilly, and the Blue Boy. Jasmin suffered the same fate as the prior show and took the middle rope piledriver. Two shows later the company closed down.
For the time being Jasmin worked the Xtreme Wrestling Federation occasionally under the name of Jazzy where she managed the South Philly Posse formerly known as Public Enemy during 2001. She appeared on and off for XWF for the next few years.
In 2002 she even made two appearances for NWA: Total Nonstop Action (TNA). Her first one saw her come out and execute a seemingly random strip tease which lead to the following week on July 17 when she wrestled Francine. The Blue Boy interfered and laid Francine out with a DDT causing St. Claire to be disqualified.
It was that two show stint in TNA that soured the friendship of Jasmin and Francine. St. Claire felt that Francine had got her fired and that Francine was unprofessional and a whole heap of negative stuff. Plus even though St. Claire had spoken very highly of Francine in 2001 and said they were like sisters, following the TNA fallout Jasmin added that she realized Francine had held her back in ECW too.
Francine responded to this saying that she had no control over booking in ECW and it was the Meanies fault for changing his character and losing the appeal that was already there for him. She goes on to say that she was told they only brought Meanie and Jasmin in at shows they could drive to and so they would have the benefit of selling the "Pervert Pics" of Jasmin on the website, but had no real interest in either of them as performers. As for TNA Francine said that when she was talking to Vince Russo some guy come up and said Jasmin did not want to get wet as planned and Russo replied that she'd do whatever he told her too and that it was not her fault that Jasmin wasn't kept around.
She claims that she was the first woman to ever promote and own her own wrestling company, that however is inaccurate. While I'm sure there are others, Anne Gunkel is the first name to spring to mind. St. Clair did indeed promote a wrestling company though. Along with the Blue Boy they opened up Pro-Pain Pro Wrestling (3PW). In an interview her and Meanie did together during 2004 Jasmin said of her role in the company:
"I manage Meanie and I am part owner as well. I deal with the press and help organize the shows. I just organized a bus trip for a group of wrestling fans from Poughkeepsie & Middleton, New York. We are setting up a Meet and Greet festivity where the fans will arrive and meet with the wrestlers before the show. It gives these fans an opportunity to have a great time."
After I originally published this article, Jasmin tweeted me to say that she was actually the full owner of the company.
She also spent sometime as the manager of Roadkill, Sabu, the Pitbulls 2004 (Wolfe & Kruel), and Jason Knight. In interviews Jasmin has expressed that she feels she is a very good in-ring worker and has just never had the chance to show it. St. Claire went as far as comparing herself to Trish Stratus and Lita. In 3PW she did have a few matches including ones against Missy Hyatt, (Gorgeous) George Frankenstein and Candi. They even sported quite an impressive roster over the years they were active (2002-2005).

By the end of 2004 both the personal and business relationships were beginning to crumble for Blue Boy and St. Clair. Tod Gordon bailed and left the company before the year was over to avoid the ultimate collapse.
The first show of 2005 was scheduled for January 15. Jasmin St. Claire no-showed. As the name of the event "The Show Must Go On" implies, the show did indeed go on. Jasmin would never appear on a 3PW show again. Her last time on screen had actually been back in August 2004, but she was at least in the venue for the following October and November shows.
Meanie attempted to keep promoting 3PW without Jasmin, although he did have to get her consent as she was still part owner even if she was no longer willing to fund it and she was also due royalty checks from shows. He managed to put on a few in 2005 with the last ever 3PW show taking place on June 18. St. Clair had not received royalty checks from prior shows and stopped the company from promoting further.
Since their break up Jasmin has accused Blue Boy of physically abusing her. She spoke about how a prior boyfriend had also gone down that root and she fell back into the pattern with Blue Boy feeling the need to make their relationship for the sake of the company until it all got too much. I am not saying that what she has said is true or not, I was not there and I could not find Blue Boy's side of the story otherwise I would have included it.
In a YouShoot DVD for Kayfabe Commentaries Todd Gordon says that, Jasmin put her heart and soul into 3PW, but she just did not get how the business worked. From dealing with talent to basic psychology. He says she could be fun to be around at times, but overall she tended to rub people the wrong way a lot of the time. He also says he thinks the money to fund 3PW came from Jasmin's career in the adult movie industry, plus from the websites she hosted her stuff on.
Something that may have encouraged her to make the break from the Blue Boy was that she had received parts in the movies Coalition and Communication Breakdown during 2004 and had Swamp Zombies lined up in 2005. She did have one last little run during 2005 for NWA Cyberspace though as the on-air commissioner. Over the years since then she has had parts in a few different movies including Dorm Daze 2 and the Army of the Damned. In 2016 she got roles in After Adderall and Angel of Reckoning.
Her main focus has been on the rock and metal music scenes. Most of her life she has been a huge fan of both and she took her newly found freedom to explore the world of interviewing rock stars. She has done work with The Metal Scene TV Show, Stay Heavy TV, Guitar Player, B.C. Rich Guitars, Coffin Case and AOL Noisecreep. Plus she attends the major award ceremonies, hosts DVDs for artists, appears in music videos and meet a lot of the people she has been listening to for years.
Over the last couple of years Jasmin has become more frequent on the meet and greet conventions for wrestling fans tweeting about the days and showing lots of happiness to be meeting idols and reuniting with old friends. As of December 2016 she seems to be doing good, enjoying life and all of the adventures that come with it.
These are excerpts from interviews Jasmin took part in between the years 2000 and 2005 which share some of her thoughts on professional wrestling at that time:
"Q - Word Association
Vince McMahon - Powerful.
Paul Heyman - Creative.
Shane McMahon - Big guy.
Sheri Martel - Talented & pretty.
Madusa - Awesome worker.
Scott Steiner - Huge.
Blue Meanie- Great motivation.
Jasmin St. Claire - Let the fans decide that.
Tommy Lee - A very gd performer back in the 80?s
Butch Walker - Pretty cool
Rob Van Dam - An arrogant little overrated fuck. He treats others like shit & his Yoko wife was a cunt to me for no apparent reason. I guess it was because I was working somewhere she wanted to. Maybe she should go back to sucking cock at whatever strip club she works at.
Paris Hilton - A waste of air.
Ted Nugent - Love that cat scratch fever!!! Great hair as well.
Ron Keel - Very cool & fun to interview. I wish him the best.
DJ Will - Plays the best music.
Stephanie McMahon - Untalented spoiled brat who has, and never will, work for anything in her life. It must be great having everything handed to you on a silver platter.
Sharon Osbourne - A businesswoman.
Bruce Dickinson - He is GOD!!!!!!!!!!! I love Bruce. He is the best vocalist & he speaks real good French!"

"Q - You’ve been hanging out with The Blue Meanie a lot lately. How did you two hook up and have you fucked him yet?
A - We met last July at a wrestling show in Milwaukwe & never had a chance to hook until this past March. He lost a lot of weight & looked great. We had lunch together at the March Metal Meltdown. He seemed really cool & we hit it off. Ever since then, we have been dating. He is one of he nicest, most down to earth & thoughtful person I have ever met & by far a very passionate person. Sex with him is incredible. He also is the best kisser & great when it comes to anal sex."
"Q - Do you think the WWF has done a good job in using The Blue Meanie?
A - Yes, I do, but I also think that they can do more with him, especially now that he has a changed physically."
"Q - Does the Blue Meanie have blue pubic hair?
A - No, he does not have blue pubic hair. It would be kind of cool though."
"Q - You’ve been on WCW Live recently. What’s that all about and are you going to work for WCW any time soon? [From July 2000]
A - I hope to go to work for them. I am still training with Sue Sexton & I know that I would have a lot to bring to their show since I already know how to take both front & back bumps & am learning how to work matches. I stopped by the show to talk business with them & am hoping to work there."
"Q - Out of all the wrestling stars you've ever met, which ones stand out in your mind as the absolute coolest when you met them, and which ones were the biggest jackasses you've ever met in your life?
A - Chris Jericho is the coolest wrestler that I have met. He loves Iron Maiden, but probably not as much as I do & is a very talented musician. He was always nice to me & was great to interview. He did not have the ego that some of these stupid WWE guys have. So many of them let the TV time get to their heads. They seem to forget that in the real world there are people smarter than they are.
Terry Funk is the nicest wrestling legend I have ever met.
The biggest jackass as far as wrestlers - hmmmmm? That is very hard to answer. I guess I will list 3.
1 - Jon Bradshaw. He had the nerve to say shit about me & never even met me. Has a very bad case of insecurity since all he does is picks on people. He has to be a closet case homosexual. Any guy that hog ties other men & threatens to fuck them in the ass has some issues.
Rumor has it that someone else wrote his stock trading tip book for him.
2 - Kevin Nash. What a dork. I see him at the gym all the time. For some reason, he thinks he is better than the rest of the world cause of his measly role in the Punisher. What an insult to Russians since he played the role of a Russian & claims that he got paid like a Russian. I seriously doubt he knows that Moscow is one of the richest cities in the world.
3 - Raven. Unfortunately I had the pleasure of working with him. I fired him. He has a habit of exposing himself to everyone in the locker room. He is also a whiny little bitch who complains about everything & thinks he is better than everyone else. His work rate sucks!!"
"Q - Rate the following wrestling chicks on a scale of 1 to 10 based. [1 being a chick that’s lame and 10 being a girl who’s at the top of her game]
A - Ivory - 7

1: Bang Tango
2: Skid Row
4: Bowling For Soup
6: Twisted Sister
8: Quiet Riot
12: the Darkness

16: Motley Crue
OH FUCK_THIS IS WHERE IT GETS REALLY TOUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
18: Judas Priest
19: & 20 : A DRAW. 3 Inches of Blood & Iron Maiden: The True Gods of metal!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Q - Which WWE diva deserves crazy glue in her Vagisil and why?
A - Dawn Marie. Definitely not a metalhead. She also needs to seal that nasty thing up so it can regenerate. Shame on her for fucking around on Simon Diamond-he was way too good for her anyway. She looks like a little boy. I wonder how many cocks she had to suck to keep her job there. At least in ECW,it was only 1.
"Q - The WCW or the WWF?
A - WWF. It was great back in the day."
"Q - If you have your choice, which wrestling promotion would you prefer to work for and why?
A - WCW or WWF. It is a close call. Both are very good promotions, but if I had to pick one, it would be really difficult since both have great storylines, but WWF DOES have higher ratings, so I would have to lean more towards WWF, besides, I grew up watching WWF. But, I really like the storylines better at WCW & feel as though I would fit in better & it would give me an opportunity to work with Madusa."
"Q - Finish the following sentence, ?The biggest misconception about ____________ is?? For example, ?The biggest misconception about MTV is that they play videos.? You get the idea.
Los Angeles is - That people are so real here.
Backyard wrestling is - That it takes real talent to do it.
Bret Michaels is - He is stuck up.
Kendra Jade is - That she is my enemy.
Smokey Mountain is - They have such a great wrestling territory.
The French language is - It is difficult to learn
Amateur porn is - That it is glamorous.
Hello Kitty is - That it s for kids only.
The Blue Meanie is - He has blue pubic hair.
Olive oil is - It eases anal tension.
Metal Sludge is - That it is for mindless people. Immature does not mean mindless."
"Q - Hulk Hogan or Andre the Giant?
A - Andre the Giant-he is still an icon."
"Q - Chris Jericho or John Cena?
A - Chris Jericho He is a fellow metal head & actually has talent. He is the only WWE wrestler who can have a successful career in music."
"Q - It's rumored that a lot of the wrestlers today are losing faith in the writing team. What are your thoughts about that?
The people that feel that way are absolutely correct.
The WWE writing team sucks ass. The McMahons should use Paul Heyman for his strongest talent-creativity. If they would put their egos to rest and let him do the writing, they would have a better product."
"Q - Name the 3 highest points and the 3 lowest points of your entire career to date.
A - Lowest Points
1 - When ECW went bankrupt.
2 - Learning that my previous manager stole $250,000.00 from me.
3 - Working with Rob Black.
1 - Opening 3PW.
2 - My projects with Cleopatra records.
3 - Doing stuff in the name of metal."
