Jim McMillen
Jim McMillen was born on October 22, 1902. McMillen excelled at football growing up. During his time at the University of Illinois he was an All-American and a captain of their team there. Following leaving he played seven straight seasons with the Chicago Bears.
When his pro-football career finished in 1928, McMillen transitioned into wrestling by the beginning of the 1930s. Due to his star name he immediately was thrown into feature bouts. Illinois was where he found most of his success winning the Illinois Heavyweight Championship on two occasions, he would also win the State Heavyweight Championship down in California too.
McMillen would remain in wrestling until the early 1950s. His list of opponents through-out that time includes names such as George Zaharias, Gino Garibaldi, Everette Marshall, Joe Savoldi, Dick Shikat, Jim Londos, Ray Steele, Ed Don George, Renato Gardini, the Duseks, Toots Mondt, Sandor Szabo, and Lou Thesz just to name a handful. As well as a solid career McMillen's son-in-law Johnny Kace would also go on to be a professional wrestler.
In January 1984 Jim McMillen passed away.
