Chapter Four: Through Hell Fire and Brimstone - It's Kane! Or, Is It?!

Hello PWHS followers! It's me again, with yet another addition of my fantasy articles, WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN! In this one, I have constructed a storyline based on the failed Kane vs. Kane fued of 2006! Now, I have based this one on an interview that a former WWE writer gave, in which he stated, Jacobs was going to retire, but, WWE, meaning Vince McMahon, wanted to continue the Kane character. So, they came up with a plan of action so to speak, by creating a storyline that was going to explain Jacob's absence from WWE. Of course if he ever returned, he wouldn't have been Kane. He would of had a new name, and lord knows what WWE creative would have came up with!
So, here's my version of What Could Have Been...The Battle Of The Demons, Kane Vs. Kane!
May 19, that's the day Kane's parents died in a fire. It's also the day, Kane's movie, See No Evil came out. For weeks, everytime Kane heard May 19th, he freaked out! Then, an image of Kane's original mask appeared on the tron, engulfed in flames, and you could hear Kane's voice saying, It will never be over!
Monday, May 19, 2006 - Kane faced Shelton Benjamin for the Intercontinental title. Kane had just chokeslammed Benjamin, when the image appeared again, and then...Kane's original theme music hit. Out came a man dressed as Kane. Only It was the 1997 version of Kane. His original gear and his original mask. This mystery man dressed as Kane chokeslammed Kane!
In the following weeks it's revealed Kane knew who that man was. Kane stated that the man used to live not too far from where he lived in Death Valley, and that he was sicker and more twisted then even himself. The first match took place at Vengeance with the imposter defeating Kane! The next night on RAW, the imposter spoke for the first time. He revealed that Kane and Paul Bearer imprisoned him in a basement many years ago. He also hinted at the possibility that everyone has been told a lie!
The second encounter took place on Raw, with it ending in a no-contest after both men attacked various WWE officials who tried to break up the action. The third encounter took place at SummerSlam!
In the weeks leading up to SummerSlam, the imposter stated that there was only one way to end the feud. BURIED ALIVE! Two weeks before SummerSlam, the imposter revealed that on the next RAW, the whole world would know the truth, and that Kane's world, will go up in flames!
On the RAW before SummerSlam, Paul Bearer returned! He had been held hostage by the imposter, and was told to tell the truth!
Paul told the whole story. About a boy who lost his parents in a fire. He said that he worked in the funeral parlor, alongside Kane's parents, and that he lived across the street from them. He said Kane was just an infant, and was just an innocent victim of a grudge Paul had with Kane's father. Then Paul revealed a shocker! He said, he lived across the street from them with his son, the man he said was Kane, but, he's not The Undertaker's brother, he's Paul Bearer's son! Then he stated, the supposed imposter, was The Undertaker's brother! They had to imprison him 'cause Undertaker saw Paul's son set the funeral Parlor on fire. The only reason The Undertaker sided with Bearer was because they threatened to kill the infant Kane. Undertaker sided with Bearer all those years, to save his brother's life!
At SummerSlam, Kane (the real one) beat Kane (Glenn Jacobs) in a Buried Alive match!
The man behind the original Kane, Glenn Jacobs, retired and went into politics. Kane lived on, played by the man now known as Luke Gallows!
Now, obviously, Glenn Jacobs never retired in 2006, and in fact still is KANE. Luke Gallows, who really was the imposter Kane, is currently part of The Good Brothers tag team with Karl Anderson in WWE after a great run in NJPW! Gallows has previously wrestled as Festus, and was a member of C.M. Punk's Straight Edge Society! He also had a run in TNA/Impact Wrestling as DOC, in the Aces and Eight heel faction!
Well, I hoped you enjoyed my article. Again, it's an idea based upon what was supposedly supposed to happen, if the feud didn't flop! Thanks for reading! Until next time, save me a ringside seat!
