Black WrestleMania
A Fantasy Piece

We all have heard about Black Saturday, when the WWF took over Georgia Championship Wrestling's World Championship Wrestling show in the 6:05 time-slot on WTBS. After having an offer turned down by Ted Turner, the WWF's owner, Vince McMahon Jr., purchased shares in GCW from Jim Barnett, Bill Watts, Fred Ward and his two son-in-laws, and Jack and Jerry Brisco. That gave McMahon the controlling vote in the company with over 50% of GCW's stock, which he needed because the other shareholder, Ole Anderson, was not going to work with or sell to McMahon under any circumstance. GCW's fans revolted. They liked their kind of wrestling. Plus, there was no Gordon Solie. Add to that Turner pressuring Vince to fulfil his end of the contract to the letter, which included filming original content for the WTBS slot with some of it in TBS Studios, something Vince thought he'd get out of. The whole situation spelled doom for WWF's weekly Georgia Championship Wrestling show from the beginning and did wind up with Vince selling GCW and the time-slot to Jim Crockett Jr. of Mid-Atlantic Wrestling. Well, what if history was different? What if the Crocketts invaded WWF's GCW? What if it led to something I have dubbed Black WrestleMania?
On the 14th of July 1984, Freddie Miller informed the world that the WWF had taken over Georgia Championship Wrestling. Vince McMahon himself was there, and promised to bring them the best product possible. Well, he didn't. It wasn't until the 2nd of March 1985 that they finally started doing studio wrestling in Georgia. They renamed the promotion, WWF Georgia Championship Wrestling. Gorilla Monsoon and Freddie Miller were the hosts. The show lasted until the 25th of March 1985. Now, let's see what may have been, if The Crocketts invaded WWF Georgia Championship Wrestling!
2nd of March, 1985 - WWF Georgia Championship Wrestling
Gorilla Monsoon and Freddie Miller welcome the crowd and viewing audience to the first in studio addition of WWF Georgia Championship Wrestling. The first match-up features The U.S. Express in action!
The U.S. Express beat S.D. Jones and Brody Davis (I made him up) in 8:48.
After the match, The U.S. Express get attacked by...Ivan and Nikita Koloff? What's goin on here? After the attack, the Koloffs are chased away by various members of the WWF roster!
They come back from break when...Gordan Solie himself shows up and confronts Gorilla Monsoon and Freddie Miller!
"Gordan Solie? What are you doing here? You don't work for the WWF," says Gorilla.
"First off, don't question me Monsoon or I will slap those glasses right off your face! As for what I'm doing here, you will soon find out!"
Solie storms out the studio and the next match begins!
Greg Valentine beats Bubba Watts (I made him up to. In fact all preliminary guys are made up in) 6:07.
After the match, the cameras pan the crowd and sitting in the front row...Magnum T.A.!
Cut to break. They return from break with Magnum no longer in the front row...HE'S IN THE RING!
"If this is the best the WWF can do, then I'll be the first one to admit, that, well...THIS COMPANY SUCKS!"
Valentine returns and attacks Magnum from behind! Magnum is taken down by Georgia Police Officers!
The next match begins!
Roddy Piper, Bob Orton Jr, and Paul Orndorff beat Jack and Jake O'Reily and George Halifax in 9:35.
The Rock 'n' Roll Express show up and grab a microphone!
"HEY! PIPER AND ORNDORK! GET OUT OF OUR RING!"
It's mass hysteria as the R. 'n' R. Express, Piper, Ordorff, and Bob Orton Jr. get into a wild brawl.
"ENOUGH OF THIS! I WANT ANSWERS! WHAT IS GOING ON?" Gorilla exclaimed.
Then...Jim Crockett...and David Crockett show up!
"IT'S EASY TO FIGURE OUT YOU BIG APE! WE ARE CROCKETT PROMOTIONS, AND WE WANT OUR SHOW BACK!" Yelled Jim.
"Not only that, but these fans, WANT THEIR WRESTLING BACK!" David said.
9th of March, 1985 - WWF Georgia Championship Wrestling
"Last week on this program, Crockett Promotions invaded our television studio and attacked us personally and physically. Well, I have just received word from WWF President, Jack Tunney, that on March 31st, at Madison Square Garden, the WWF will challenge Crockett Promotions and whatever they have to bring to the table! We will see who has the better wrestling indeed, as this one time only attraction will forever be known in the history books as...WrestleMania!!!" Said Gorilla Monsoon enthusiastically.
16th of March, 1985 - WWF Georgia Championship Wrestling
"Hello and welcome to WWF Georgia Championship Wrestling. Gorilla Monsoon here with his Lordship Alfred Hayes, and Alfred, what a main event we have planned for tonight."
"Indeed we do Gorilla as the WWF World Champion will be going one-on-one with...WHAT IN THE WORLD?!"
"STEP ASIDE! WOOOOOOOO! THE NATURE BOY..HAS ARRIVED! WOOOOO! HULK HOGAN! WRESTLEMANIA, WE'LL SEE WHO THE BEST MAN IS! WOOOOOO!"
Later in the show.
"Well, ya know Gorilla, I've beaten all the Giants, all the monsters, and all the dudes that tried to end Hulkamania, brother. Ric Flair, you call yourself a world champion, dude. Well, from one world champion to another: What'cha gonna do when Hulkamania RUNS WILD ON YOU?!"
"It's official! WWF World Champion Hulk Hogan will challenge the NWA World Champion Ric Flair at WrestleMania," announced Gorilla Monsoon.
